Machine Translation: Search for a Digital Rosetta Stone

Machine transltion is the process of instantly translating any one language into any other. Indeed the ability to comprehend all languages must have been a very ancient concept. This is now a realizable goal due to the creation of computers. With the internet becoming more and more prolific mechanized translation would allow for any individual to view any web-page regardless of language barriers. Some researchers are attempting to create new algorithims in order to perform translations. Other researchers are trying to use a natural language to achieve the same purpose. The goal however remains elusive and there are still some years to go before it can be realized.
